Most of the outdoor brands are using down, wool, leather etc. in their products. Their products are not vegan. However there are some brands following some rules in the process and use of down. Responsible Down Standard is one of the certificates are applied. What is RDS ?

What is RDS?

The Responsible Down Standard ensures that down and feathers come from ducks and geese that have been treated well. This means enabling them to live healthy lives, express innate behaviors, and not suffer from pain, fear or distress. The standard also follows the chain of custody from farm to product so consumers can be confident that the down and feathers in the products they choose are truly RDS.

This standard is not enough for animal rights. But at least the system is changing step bu step. We will see better days for sure.
